As part of the National Quality Framework services are required to support and challenge their educators. Traditionally annual appraisals have been used for this purpose however these can be overwhelming and cause great anxiety in educators, limiting their success in allowing for open and meaningful dialogue. Annual appraisals are also restrictive in continuous improvement as they may provide goals that can be completed within weeks and are not revisited for 12 months.
